Phase One - Capture One Pro

Phase One - Capture One Pro

Even if the current version is not on the top of modern user interface design, Capture One is the pattern for most of the available RAW convertes in the market. It has an easy to understand workflow concept, a lot of helpfull tools and produces excellent results.
Capture One supports a huge number of semiprofssional and professional SLR cameras likewise the Phase One camera backs.

We show you, how to use it with the Online Profile.

Open up the Capture
Phase One - Capture One Pro

Open up the capture of your ColorChart with Capture One Pro and switch to the »White Balance Tool«

from your system.

Select the »Phase One - No color correction« ICC profile
from the list of profiles.

This setting is very important, if you are working with Phase One camera backs, but works for all supported cameras as well. This ICC profile disables some secret functions of the »Capture One« software.

White Balance Tool
Phase One - Capture One Pro After selecting the »Phase One - No color correction« ICC profile, click on a white patch of your ColorChart, to set the correct White Balance.

Exposure Tool
Phase One - Capture One Pro

Switch to the »Exposure Tool« and setup
the curve to »Linear response«.

Adjust the exposure to a value between RGB 235 and RGB 245.

Only minor adjustments should be made for the exposure. For a high quality Input ICC profile, the capture of your ColorChart should be of a good exposure!

Process Tool
Phase One - Capture One Pro

Switch to the »Process Tool« and make the following settings:

  • Format:
JPEG (use medium or high quality)
  • Profile:
    Embed camera profile
  • Quality:
    High

Use an meaningfull scaling factor.

You would not get a better Input Camera Profile, just because of a larger file. You only have to wait longer during the file upload to our »Online Profiler«.
  • Click on the button »Process« to start the export of your image file.

Now it is time to create the »Input Camera ICC Profile«
using our »Online Profiler«

Please refer to the following tutorials:
