Between 18th and 20th of April 2007 the most important fair for imaging in Switzerland opened its gate 9 for „the whole world of the image“ (slogan).

If you have been there the last time the visitor realises, that there is almost no manufacturer exhibiting with an own booth. Therefor the numbers of exhibitors decreased to almost half the amount compared to the last Professional Imaging (now just about 30).

Nevertheless Stephan Fässler, Managing Director of Tekno AG, Zürich, was happy with the audience and the feedback he received at his booth.

„I guess that the number of visitors stay the same this time but by parallely raising the level. Most of the time I am talking with a visitor the questions are very professional. And as a dealer I am quite happy with the result of generated leads.“

As mainly distributors and resellers were doing their business, the most innovative presentation took place at the booth of cewe.

Known as a consumer-massmarket-finisher with picture pricing below 10 Cents cewe presents themselves for the first time in Switzerland.

Beside new marketing solutions for local photoshops cewe now offers high quality products for the professional photografers.

While the first solution addresses the category „photoarts“, the second one is meant to be used by professionals.

Both softwares allow the user to design and to layout images for the production of photobooks, calendars and other photogifts. While the photoart-solution costs approximately 189,- EUR, the high-end professional solution is for free.

What the writer of this article impressed most, is the ability to integrate ICC-profiles into the production process of a high-quality photobook.

Whether the book is printed on Indigo (photoart) or finished on high quality photopaper with different effects (glossy, matte or metallic look for example), the customer of a lifetime present - which can cost up to 800,- EUR - will receive most accurate colors available.

Thumbs up for a genuine bound and color-correct printed book that can be personally designed on your PC.
